Mrs. Deborah E. Hooks, 57, of Swainsboro passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Augusta University Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mrs. Hooks was born November 10, 1960 in Swainsboro, Ga. to the late Joe Walter Edenfield and Martha Ann Edenfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joe Edenfield, and Jeremy Edenfield. Mrs. Hooks was an honor graduate from Emanuel County Institute in 1978. Her career accomplishments included working for Robert Reeves Law Office for over twenty years. After retirement, her interests included spending time with family, reading, and attending Swainsboro High School sporting events. Mrs. Hooks was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Mt. Shady Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ellis Hooks of Swainsboro; son, Ashley Hooks (Marla) of Swainsboro; brothers, Tim Edenfield (Lynn) of Dublin, Andy Edenfield (Tiffany), and Shane Hooks (Amy) both of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Ella Jo Hooks, and Broxton Rawlings Hooks; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral Services will be at Mt. Shady Baptist Church 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2018 with Reverends Wayne Page and Rusty Moore officiating. Mrs. Hooks will lie in state one hour prior to service.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Shady Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Tracy Hooks, Mitchell Edenfield, Frank Canady, Ronnie Newsome, Mike Rowland, Joe Price, Mike Wiggins, and Jeff Wiggins.
