Dennis Dane Holden, Sr.

            Mr. Dennis Dane Holden, Sr., 61, of Canoochee passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville following a brief illness.

            Mr. Holden was born October 7, 1956 in Conway, S.C. to Leamon Holden and Gladys Todd Minton. He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Tammy Holden; grandson, Thomas Holden. Mr. Holden moved to Canoochee at a young age and lived with his grandparents James & Gerty Todd. He has been in the store and station business since 1991 when he operated the Canoochee Store, in 1995 he operated Holden’s in Garfield, and from 1998 to present operated Holden’s Tire & Automotive in Twin City. Mr. Holden loved fishing, hunting, his family and his grandchildren. He loved being a prankster and making people laugh, his nickname was Pudding, and he always called his daughter, “Samantha Jo Denice Holden, Jr”. Mr. Holden was a former member of the Twin City Lions Club, and a member of Canoochee Missionary Baptist Church.

            Survivors include his mother, Gladys Holden Minton of Swainsboro; wife of 37 years, Polly Holden of Canoochee; daughters, Kelli Rupprecht of Grovetown, and Samantha Braddock (Allen) of Twin City; sons, Dennis Holden Jr. (Stephanie) of Bartow, Chad Holden (April) of Kite, Andy Holden (Whitney) of Canoochee, and Dusty Holden (Mandi) of Canoochee; brothers, Larry Holden (Donna) of Brittons Neck, S.C., Danny Holden (Connie) of Blun, and Michael Holden of Swainsboro; sisters, Brenda Jackson (Steve) of Brittons Neck, S.C., and Faye Clayton of Modoc; 21 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; several nieces, nephews and friends.

            Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home 6:00 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2017 with Reverend Heath  Wingard officiating.

           The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Chapman Funeral Home.
