Donnie Lee Hendley

            Mr. Donnie Lee Hendley, 57, of Garfield passed away Friday, November 10, 2017 at his residence following an extended illness.

            Mr. Hendley was born December 15, 1959 in Millen, Ga. to the late Wallace Hendley and Lounell Johnson Hendley. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Luther Hendley. Mr. Hendley was a self-employed painter for 40 years. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

            Survivors include his brothers, Danny Hendley and Steve Hendley (Dawn Evans) both of Garfield; sisters, Ann Alexander (David) of Garfield and Carolyn Williams (Berry) of Millen; nieces, Melissa McClure, Amy McLeod (Brandon), Ashley Alexander, and Sheila Hendley; great-niece, Liv Lamb; great-nephews, River McLeod, and Hance McLeod; many loving family members and friends.

            Funeral Services will be held at Mt Olivet Baptist Church 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 12, 2017 with Reverend Billy Brinson officiating. Mr. Hendley will lie in state one hour prior to service.

           Interment will follow in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery.

           The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Chapman Funeral Home.

          Pallbearers are Richard Johnson, Craig Johnson, Jim Lanier, Stephen Johnson, William Coleman, and Roosevelt “Pete” Marshall.
