Pearlie Ruth Williams was born in Swainsboro, Georgia on July 30, 1947 to the late John W. Williams and Hannah Mae Jackson Williams. She went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 after a lengthy battle with lung cancer.
Pearlie was educated in the Swainsboro, Georgia Public School System and later attended Swainsboro Technical School. She was a member of Mount Moriah AME Church in Swainsboro, where she joined as a child. She was a former member of the St. Phillip Chapter #114 Order of the Eastern Star. She retired from the State of Georgia Department of Corrections after many years of service.
Pearlie enjoyed baking and spending time with her family. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and delighted in their accomplishments. Pearlie loved to sew and was an exceptional seamstress. She could look at a picture and create a masterpiece without a pattern. She took pride in helping others and was a giving person with a big heart.
In addition to her parents, Pearlie was preceded in death by: one son, Anthony R. Robinson, and one brother, John D. (Kitty) Williams.
Pearlie leaves to cherish her memory: one son, Lehmon R. Robinson (Kelli) of Tucker, Georgia; two sisters, Catherine W. Brown and Connie W. Jones both of Swainsboro, Georgia; two surrogate sisters, Jerry “Cookie” Bentley of Baltimore, Maryland and Lana K. Jackson of Swainsboro, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Spencer Bell, Kristen Robinson, Kamryn Harris, Arrieana Robinson, Christopher Nared, Cameron Robinson, Casey Robinson, and Tyler Askew; three great-grandchildren, Anthony Markell, Aiden Nared, and Dominic Tapia; three aunts, Ola Mae Woods of Metter, Georgia, Ola Bell Williams, and Eula Pearl Williams both of Brooklyn, New York; three uncles, Lonzie Williams of Brooklyn, New York, Johnny Williams (Josephine) of Stillmore, Georgia, and Clarence Williams (Lois) of Swainsboro, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Mount Moriah AME Church in Swainsboro at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 15, 2017 with Pastor Samuel A Cooper, Jr. and Rev. Bennie L. Brinson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Chapman Funeral Home.
