Thelma Glenda Scott

Mrs. Thelma Glenda Scott, 78, of Swainsboro passed away Friday afternoon, October 6, 2017 at University Hospital, Augusta following an extended illness.

            Mrs. Scott was born December 12, 1938 in Swainsboro, Ga. to the late Lindsey Sconyers and Thelma Bunn Sconyers. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rayburn “Sonny” Scott; brothers, Comer Lee Sconyers, and Bromer Sconyers. Mrs. Scott was of the Baptist Faith.

            Survivors include her sons, Nicky Scott of Twin City, and Kelvin Scott (Pam) of Swainsboro; daughter, Charlotte Chavis of Twin City; grandchildren, Michelle Headrick, Kristi Chavis, Brandi Hood (Michael), and Eric Hughes (Holly); great-grandchildren, Destiny Akridge, Chandler Lance Headrick, Lane Van Horn, Tyler Hood, Gavin Hood, Candence Hughes, and Haley Hughes; several nieces, nephews, and friends.

            Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 8, 2017 with Reverend Morris Brantley officiating.

           Interment will follow in the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

           The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Chapman Funeral Home.

            Pallbearers are Richard Jones, Chatt Jones, Jimmy Ray Mercer, Jim Mercer, Eric Hughes, and Michael Hood.
