Mrs. Allene Johnson Hooks, 83, of Swainsboro passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Mrs. Hooks was born January 30, 1935 in Swainsboro, Ga. to the late Beecher Johnson and Ronella Screws Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Talmadge Hooks; son, Ronald Hooks; brother, Alton Johnson. Mrs. Hooks was a homemaker, she had a big heart, opening her home to anyone who needed it. She enjoyed fishing, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Hooks was a member of The Rock Worship Center.
Survivors include her daughters, Bonnie Womack (Milton) of Swainsboro, and Tammy Roundtree (Andy) of Dublin; sons, Buck Hooks (Judy Collins) of Nunez, Donald Lee Hooks (Jeanie) of Swainsboro, Kenny Wayne Hooks (Ethel) of Swainsboro, Randy Hooks of Nunez, Danny Ray Hooks, Larry Hooks, Steve Hooks (Lisa) all of Swainsboro, and Todd Hooks (Angela) of Nunez; brothers, Doc Johnson (Lanora) of Swainsboro, Bobby Johnson (Dorothy) of Dublin, and Rex Johnson (Shirley) of Swainsboro; sisters, Sue Patton (Carol) of Athens, Linda Cochran (Robert) of Swainsboro, and Burnell Roberts (Mike) of Augusta; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral Services will be at The Rock Worship Center 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2018 with Reverends Ronnie Collins and Robert Beckhum officiating. Mrs. Hooks will lie in state one hour prior to service.
Interment will follow in New Hope Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are grandsons.
