Mrs. Barbara Williams Mosley, 67, of Swainsboro passed away Saturday afternoon, January 6, 2018 at her residence following and extended illness.

            Mrs. Mosley was born October 14, 1950 in Swainsboro, Ga. to the late Isma Williams and Eudelle Abney Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Linda Ogletree. Barbara Mosley was a lifelong resident of Emanuel County. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed volunteering and serving her community through various outreach organizations and programs. At the age of 56, she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, GA. She sold pine cones and worked various side jobs to finance her college education. Her nursing career began at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, GA. A few years later, she began working for United Hospice in Swainsboro, GA. She was one of the first locally assigned hospice nurses in Swainsboro at that time. She enjoyed helping others and spent the last several years of her life volunteering for the Kairos Prison Ministry as well as teaching Sunday School at Hillcrest and Hawhammock Baptist Church. Barbara was extremely proud of completing the Dale Carnegie Course in Speaking and Human Relations in 1975. She instilled many of these skills into her two sons as she was raising them as a single mother. Her tenacity and drive inspired those around her, especially her children. She was adored by her grandchildren and will be remembered as a strong, generous, and loving woman, devoted to them and her whole family.

 

            Survivors include her husband, Watson Mosley of Swainsboro; sons, Chris Biggers (Tina) of Bartow and John Biggers (Michele) of Claxton; daughters, Nannette Mosley (Paul Keck) of Watkinsville, and Valarie Mosley (Justin Clark) of College Park, Maryland; brother, Johnny Williams (Joyce) of Swainsboro; brother-in-law, Gene Ogletree of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Santi Garcia-Mosley, Laura Garcia-Mosley, Christopher Biggers, Ian Mosley Clark, and Payton Biggers;  several nieces, nephews, and friends.

 

            Memorial Service will be at Hawhammock Baptist Church 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2018 with Reverend Cail Pressey officiating.

 

           The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2018 at Hawhammock Baptist Church.

            Honorary Pallbearers are Woman of Wisdom Sunday School Class.

           In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pruitt Hospice 667 South Main St. Swainsboro, Ga. 30401.
