Mr. Barney Hayward, Sr., 84, of Swainsboro passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Charlie Norwood V.A.M.C. following an extended illness.
Mr. Hayward was born April 24, 1933 in Hazlehurst, Ga. to the late Lester Hayward and Alice Creamer. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Hilda Courson Hayward. Mr. Hayward served in the United States Air Force serving in the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and traveling.
Survivors include his son, Barney Hayward, Jr. of Martinez; daughters, Debbie Fountain (Richard) of Twin City, and Glenda Coleman (Harold) of Swainsboro; brother, Roy Hayward (Shirley) of Hazlehurst, Ga.; companion, Ruth Johnson of Swainsboro; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Graveside Services will be at Eastbrook Cemetery & Mausoleum 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018 with Reverend Phil Wilson officiating.
