Baroness Marie Vantill Hickey

Baroness Marie Vantill Hickey, 82, of Swainsboro, GA passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019.  Marie passed away in the comfort of her home following an extended illness with her loving husband of 56 years by her side. 

Marie was born on December 29, 1936 in Tampa, FL and lived in Miami for many years before moving to Swainsboro, GA where she lived the past 21 years.

Marie enjoyed the simple pleasures in life including listening to music, singing, dancing, playing the piano and a good football game. She was a loving daughter, wife and mother.  Marie was a good friend to all and devoted most of her life ministering the message of Jesus Christ to both children and adults.  Marie taught Sunday school, fed the homeless, comforted those with a broken spirit and helped those in need find their answers in Jesus.

Survivors include her husband Reverend Evangelist Larry Hickey; her children Ernest Hickey (Candi), Thomas Hickey (Marcela) and Monique Kelly; her grandchildren Elaine Rivero (David), Jennifer Hickey, Elise Hickey, Emma Hickey, Sarah Hickey and seven great grandchildren. 

Celebration of Life service will be held at Nunez Baptist Church at 4:00 pm Saturday, May 4, 2019 with Dr. Lee Gaston and Rev. Jim Harrell officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3:00pm to 4:00pm at Nunez Baptist Church Saturday, May 4, 2019.
