Mr. Bennie Sherril Williams, 85, of Kite passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Williams was born October 11, 1933 in Swainsboro to the late Warren Jackson Williams and Oca Rowland Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of his children, Margie H. Williams; brothers, Lamar Williams and Elton (Ram) Williams, sister, Maxine Virginia Williams. Mr. Williams was a retired farmer and carpenter. He loved farming, riding his tractor, fishing and was a very good cook, especially his pumpkin pies and fruit cakes. Mr. Williams loved to tinker on cars and tractors. His kids would always say “there is nothing that Daddy can’t fix”. He was a jack of all trades. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Williams was a member of Williams Chapel.
Survivors include his wife, Ethelyn G. Brady Williams of Kite; sons, Billy Ray Williams, Warren Clifton Williams, both of Kite; daughters, Judy (Robert) Riner of Swainsboro, Brenda (Jim) Creech, Sherry (Ray) Purvis, both of Kite, Patricia (Bill) Wheeler of Harlem; brothers, Rowland Williams, Glenn Williams, Woody Williams, all of Kite, Gerome Williams of Claxton; sisters, Edith Pundt of Wadley, Lynette Watson of Macon; 21 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; step children, Sue B. Ross, J.M. Brady, Randy Brady, all of Kite; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral Services will be Sunday, August 18, 2019 3 p.m. at Williams Chapel in Kite with Reverend Lamar Kersey officiating.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in Sardis Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Tracy Lively, Bennie Williams, Chris Williams, Kylon Lopez, Taylon Martinez, Brandon Williams, Waylon Mangham, Kyle Edenfield, and Phil Riner.
