Benny Lynn "Tank" Johnson Obituary

Mr. Benny Lynn “Tank” Johnson, 60, of Swainsboro passed away Monday, September 30, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Johnson was born August 29, 1959 in Swainsboro to George Kenneth Johnson and Gena Claxton Odom.    He was preceded in death by his father, George Kenneth Johnson. Lynn was a wonderful man and meant a lot to the lives of many people. Lynn was best known around the community and friends as “Tank”. He did many things in his lifetime. He was a founding member of the Kite Church of God Park Committee. He was self-employed most of his life. His last job endeavor, he lettered race cars and did sign and t-shirt work. He first started lettering in 1998 when he lettered a go kart for Chesley Dixon. After that, he built his business by moving up to race cars, which made him become come well known in the racing community. His hobbies included softball, hunting, and fishing. His favorite place to visit was the mountains and he went at least once a year. He loved children and always made it a point to take up time with them. In February 2017, Lynn’s best friend Ayden was born. Ayden has been the light of Lynn’s life and was what kept Lynn going the past 2 years, then along came Madi in July 2018. He especially loved face timing with Ayden and Madi, to see their faces and talking to them. They brought so much joy to Lynn, even when he felt his worst. He loved everyone, but his heart was with his Baboo and his Katy Madi.
