Mr. Buford Daniels, 87, of Twin City passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Daniels was born October 14, 1931 in Kite, GA. to the late Lester Daniels and Cleo Williams Daniels Covington. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vera Mae Riner Daniels; brother, Howard Daniels.
In his 87 years, Mr. Daniels accomplished many things. He began his career at a very young age, delivering ice and fertilizer in the Summit/Graymont area while running the Graymont Movie Theatre for 7 years. Mr. Daniels later went to work for Roger Wood Foods in Savannah but was soon drafted into the army during the Korean War. He was stationed in Germany where he served our country for 2 years ranking as Sergeant E-5.
After his service ended, he returned to Roger Wood Foods where he was employed for 47 years. He and his wife reared 4 children and were mentors to many others. Mr. Daniels was an avid fisherman, being known for reeling in a fish before you could set the anchor. He was loved by many and had a place in his heart for all.
Mr. Daniels will be greatly missed but forever remembered by the lives he touched.
Survivors include his sons, Ricky Daniels (Debbie) of Rincon and Alan Daniels of Richmond Hill; daughters, Cheryl Brantley and Angela Daniels both of Twin City; sister, Thelma Green of Summertown; grandchildren, Chris Daniels, Justin Daniels, Joseph Brantley, Benji Teston, and Kelli Exley; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, August 20, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at New Testament Missionary Outreach Church with Evangelist Becky Trammell officiating.
Interment will follow in the New Testament Missionary Outreach Church Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 19, 2019 at New Testament Missionary Outreach Church.
Pallbearers are Joseph Brantley, Justin Daniels, Chris Daniels, Jacob Teston, Parker Olsen and Craig Hendley.
