Mr. Cecil Tanner, 63, of Wrightsville passed away Friday, September 21, 2018 at Wrightsville Manor following an extended illness.
Mr. Tanner was born April 9, 1955 in Bartow, Ga. to the late Bennie Ivey Tanner and Mary Lizzie Garner Tanner. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Ann Fanning; brothers, J.W. Tanner, Billy Tanner, Roy Tanner, Mickey Tanner, Donald Tanner, and Fred Tanner. Mr. Tanner lived most of his life in Bartow before moving to Kite. He was a logger for many years. Mr. Tanner enjoyed doing carpenter work and drawing. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his sisters, Betty Jackson (Ovid) of Wrightsville, Dorothy Claxton of Fairbanks, Alaska, Barbara Edwards of Wrightsville, Judy White, and Lynn Harrell (Sonny) both of Canoochee; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral Services will be in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018 with Pastors James Tanner, and Jamey Toler officiating.
Interment will follow in the Oaky Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Chapman Funeral Home
Pallbearers are nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pruitt Health Hospice Swainsboro, and the family would like to say a special thank you to Pruitt Health Hospice for the exceptional care given.
