Mr. Claude Benjamin Taylor, 69, of Twin City passed away Sunday, August 11, 2019 at AU Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mr. Taylor was born September 1, 1949 to the late Claude Styles Taylor and Etta Mae Payne Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Taylor; sister, Carolyn Berry; nephew, Ricky Berry. Mr. Taylor was a retired welder. He was a simple man who never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off his back. He loved his family and friends. Claude enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, telling stories of his traveling days as a welder and helping friends repair things.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Taylor of Twin City ;daughter, Sherrie (Chris) Cowart of Twin City; grandson, Ethan Cowart; brother; William Duffie Taylor of Vidalia; sister, Donnie Sue Peebles of Vidalia; step-sons, Scott (Lisa) Colley of Wadley, Harry (Lori) Sumney of New Haven, IN; step-daughters, Rita Malott of Twin City, Dawn (Raymond) Ramirez of Swainsboro; 4-legged companions, Betsy and Precious; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2019 with Lay Speaker, Faye Stavely officiating.
Interment will follow in Swainsboro City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday August 13, 2019 6 pm to 8 pm at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Scott Colley, Jerry Brinson, Gary Purvis, Bubba Mathern, Buster Peebles and Austin Peebles.
