Dr. Demetris A. Riddles, 37, of Dacula passed away Monday, August 5, 2019 following a brief illness.
Mr. Riddles was born December 16, 1981 to Leroy Riddles and Calmeter Byrd Riddles of Swainsboro. He was preceded in death by his brother, Randy Fitzgerald Riddles of Swainsboro. Mr. Riddles graduated from Swainsboro High School in 2000. He continued his education at Fort Valley State University, Life University, Walden University and Liberty University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Master of Public Health, Epidemiology, Education Specialist Degree in teaching and learning. Doctorate in Education with minor in Special Education, respectively. Mr. Riddles was a member of Phi-Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. He was also a member of USA Track & Field Cross Country, AAU Olympic Games Region 8, owner of Striders Track Team of Gwinnett Co. in Lawrenceville, GA. He was also an active member of Fort Valley State University Alumni Band, The Blue Machine, Marching Band.
Survivors include his parents; brothers, Ricky (Josephine) Riddles, Lashone (Tracee) Riddles, both of Swainsboro, sisters, Debra (David) Smith of Augusta, Sandra (George) Archie, Christa Riddles, both of Swainsboro, Danyel (Nigel) John of Lawrenceville; 2 devoted nieces, Alexis Riddles of Lithonia, Taylor Johnn of Lawrenceville; a host of faithful and loving nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral Services will be Sunday, August 11, 2019 3:00 p.m. at St. Philip Missionary Baptist Church in Swainsboro with Reverend James E. Love and Pastor Chris Watkins officiating.
Interment will follow in Swainsboro City Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Saturday, August 10, 2019 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Alex Smith, Vince Green, Terry Odom, Brandon Lovette, Deric Williams, Jamie Williams
And Willie Brown, Jr.
