Mr. Duffie Taylor,82, of Vidalia passed away Friday, September 6, 2019 at Meadows Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Taylor was born July 21, 1937 in Toccoa, GA. to the late Claude Styles Taylor and Etta Mae Payne Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linnie Rheney Taylor; brothers, Claude Taylor and Robert Taylor; sister, Carolyn Berry; nephew, Ricky Berry. Mr. Taylor had retired from the Georgia Dept. of Transportation with 30 years of service, he also had been a Mason-Knapp Shoe Salesman for over 30 years. He was an avid race fan. Mr. Taylor was a member of Springhill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sister, Donnie Sue Peebles of Higgston; nephew, Buster Peebles of Higgston; nieces, Debbie McLendon, Janice Smith both of Higgston, and Sherry Cowart of Twin City; several great nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral Services will be Sunday, September 8, 2019, 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Bert Flanders officiating.
Interment will follow in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.
The Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Christopher McLendon, John McLendon, Buster Peebles, Austin Peebles, Chris Cowart, and Jerry Wadley.
