Mr. Edward Lewis Pierce, 63, of Stillmore passed away Saturday morning, April 28th, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his family, following a hard fought battle with lung cancer.
Ed was born February 20th, 1955 in Swainsboro, GA to Harold Alvin Pierce and Lydia Amerson Pierce. He graduated from Emanuel County Institute and then served in the United States Marines Special Forces where he was honorably discharged. Ed loved playing golf, riding his motorcycle, spending time with family and friends, and devoting endless hours to working with his hands and creating everything under the sun. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 26 of Savannah, Ridgeway Masonic Lodge #104 of Garfield, and Stillmore Baptist Church.
Ed was predeceased in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Nannell D. Pierce of Stillmore; sons, Chad and Amy Pierce of Gainesville, GA and Devin and Jessica Pierce of Stillmore, GA; siblings, Gene Pierce of Washington, D.C., Deborah and Harry Harper of Yemassee, SC, Hank and Holly Pierce of Carrolton, GA, Darin and April Pierce of Bonaire, GA, Lori and Keith Boyd of Bonaire, GA; grandchildren, Lacey Pierce, Payton Pierce, D.J. Pierce, Jake Pierce, and Baby Maci Pierce; canine companion, Bo Wicket; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro, GA is in charge of Ed’s arrangements. The family will receive visitors at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home and the Memorial Service will start at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 30th, 2018 with Reverend Louis Pearce officiating.
