Mr. Elton Binion Turner, Sr., 86, of Twin City went to be with his Lord Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Turner was born January 4, 1932 in Milledgeville, Ga. to the late Sam Turner and Lillie Bell Turner. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters; 1 brother. Mr. Turner served 3 years in the United States Navy, he was a certified public accountant for 53 years and was a partner in Turner & Jones LLC with offices in Swainsboro and Statesboro. He was Rotary Club President 1980-1981, a Mason, Shriner, and lifetime member of The American Legion. Mr. Turner had been the treasurer and Sunday school teacher at First United Methodist Church for 20 years. He helped establish The Christian Church in Milledgeville and Statesboro. Mr. Turner was a member of the Ga. Society of CPA’s and Emanuel Christian Ministries. He loved his God, family, friends, and all creations great and small.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Rose Marie Rich Turner of Twin City; sons, Jack Lanier Parham (Lisa) of Twin City, Jonathan David Parham (Wanda) of Swainsboro, and Elton Binion Turner, Jr. (Valerie) of Milledgeville; grandchildren, Haley Marie Parham, Lacey Renee Parham, Kirrin Elizabeth Parham, Aria Rose Turner, and Elton Binion Turner, III; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Memorial Service will be at Emanuel Christian Ministries 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2018 with Reverend Brad McKenzie officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2018 at Emanuel Christian Ministries.
