Ms. Gloria Jean Chavis, 67, of Swainsboro passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at her residence following an extended illness.
Ms. Chavis was born November 7, 1951 in Swainsboro to the late Clarence Brown and Bertie Lee Wimberly Brown. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Richard Chavis; daughter, Loretta Conley Sanchez; brothers, Pete Brown, Walter Brown, Donnie Brown, Clarence Brown, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Adilynn Carter. Ms. Chavis enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family. She loved holidays, especially Christmas.
Survivors include her daughters, Lisa (Steve) Hooks of Swainsboro, Roxanne (Jay) Gay of Norristown, Becky (Kris) Fletcher of Rentz; sister, Janice (Dan) Mosley of Twin City; brothers, Franklin (Renee) Brown of Midville, Keith (Juanita) Brown of Swainsboro; 9 grandchildren, Darrell Martin, Jr., Amber Gay, Brandon (Brooke) Gay, Wesley (Jessica) Carter, Kelsey (Matt) Giles, Carlos Conley, Megan Salinas-Conley, Jayson Gay, Jace Gay; 3 great-grandchildren, Kingston Gay, Lakelynn Gay, Raelynn Carter; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, October 10, 2019, 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Arthur Conley officiating.
Interment will follow in the Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 9, 2019 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Christopher Hooks, Johnathan Davis, Brandon Brown, Dustin Sutton, Darrell Martin, Sr., and Mitchell Conley.
