Mr. John Lewis Boatright, 72, of Garfield passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019 at his residence following a brief illness.
Mr. Boatright was born April 16, 1947 in Swainsboro, GA. to the late J.P. Boatright and Mildred Hendrix Boatright. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Ronda Boatright. Mr. Boatright loved fishing, bird hunting, trying to be a gardener, and especially loved his family. He attended Garfield Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sons, Richard Boatright (Brandi) of Loganville, GA. and Kevin Boatright (Becky) of Twin City; daughter, Sonya Johnson (Ricky) of Twin City; sisters, Joy Mills (David) of Garfield, and Debbie Clark both of Garfield; grandchildren, Brandon (Beka), Nick, Hannah, Abby, Nicole, Dylan, Blake, Brooks, Phoebe; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral Services will be Monday, September 30, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at Garfield Baptist Church with Chaplain Franklin Sasser officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hebron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The Family will receive friends Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Womack, Craig Johnson, Richard Johnson, Ricky Clifton, Tim Cumbee, Danny Cumbee, Jimmy Cowart and Harry Gay.
Honorary pallbearer is Tommy Cowart and Jack Mincey.
