Joseph "Joe" M Boaen

            Mr. Joseph “Joe” M. Boaen, 69, of Swainsboro passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Pruitt Health of Swainsboro following an extended illness.

            Mr. Boaen was born January 18, 1949 in Savannah, Ga. to the late Milton E. Boaen and Elizabeth Schieflbein Boaen. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Lee Boaen; brothers, Larry Boaen, and Donald Boaen; sisters, Francis Boaen, and Rose Boaen. Mr. Boaen was an electrician and plumber, he was always willing to help others out. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, hard working man, and a strong fighter, fighting cancer for many years. Mr. Boaen was of the Catholic Faith.

            Survivors include his son, Matthew Boaen of Twin City; daughters, Francis Spears of Twin City, and Angela Boaen of Texas; brothers, James Boaen of Vidalia; sisters, Margaret Biggers of Metter, Joyce Beasley of Lyons, Eleanor Boaen of Glennville, Mary Edwards of Milledgeville, Teresa Ross of Elberton, and Barbara Boaen of Savannah; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends. 

            Memorial Service will be in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2018 with Reverends Franklin Sasser and Jim Harrell officiating.

            The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7p.m. Monday, July 2, 2018 at Chapman Funeral Home.
