Ms. Martha Gwen Sconyers, 68, of Kite passed away Friday January 4, 2019 at the University Hospital in Augusta following an extended illness.
Ms. Sconyers was born January 27, 1950 in Swainsboro, GA to the late John A. Sconyers and Etheyl Douglas Sconyers. Ms. Sconyers was a lifelong resident of Emanuel County. She was a devoted medical professional throughout her life. She worked as a lab technician, a paramedic, and was director of Johnson County EMS for a number of years. Ms. Gwen enjoyed cooking, arts and crafts, woodworking, fishing, and being with her family and friends. She was a member of Sardis Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include numerous cousins, extended family members and close friends.
Funeral Services will be at Sardis Primitive Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2019 with Elder Sam Adkins officiating. Ms. Sconyers will lie in state one hour prior to service.
Interment will follow in the Sardis Primitive Baptist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday evening, January 6, 2019 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Thomas Sconyers, James Wilson, Darrell Wilson, Mitchell Moore, Trojan Harrison, and Steve Jones
Honorary Pallbearers are Elmer Blizzard, Jimmy Wilson, Courtney Terwilliger, and Jeffrey Peebles.
