Mrs. Mollie Kathern Hughes Chapman, 86, of Midville passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Pruitt Health of Swainsboro following an extended illness.
Mrs. Chapman was born June 14, 1931 in Midville, Ga. to the late Bailey Spence and Elsie Bishop Spence. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilburn Harrison Chapman; daughter, Patsy Willis; brother; Robert Cannady; sister, Loyce Allmond; step-sons, Billy V. Chapman, Sr., and Donnie Ray Chapman. Mrs. Chapman enjoying traveling, going to the beach, shopping, collecting Beanie Babies, and visiting friends and Church family. She loved Dachshund Dogs, and going to eat with family at Canoochee Catfish and McKinney’s Pond. Mrs. Chapman was a member at Summertown Baptist Church and attended Canoochee Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy Riner (Dora) of Midville; daughter, Vickie Hudson (Mark) of Midville; step-daughter, Ann Buxton (Michael) of Kite; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorial Service will be at Summertown Baptist Church 2:00 p.m. Wednesday May 30, 2018 with Reverends Ray Jenkins and Keith Claxton officiating.
Interment will follow in the Long Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Chapman Funeral Home.
