Paris 'Pat" Dalton

Mr. Paris “Pat” Dalton, 76, of Kite passed away Monday, November 18, 2019 at Emanuel Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mr. Dalton was born August 30, 1943 in Asheville, NC. to the late Clephone Ellis Dalton and Faye Reed Dalton. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bruce Dalton; sister, Nancy Gooch.  At the age of 17, Pat joined the United States Air Force.  He served as a military policeman overseas during the Korean conflict.  After his time in service, Pat met the love of his life, Helen Sheppard and soon after, they married.  They had 4 children.  Throughout his life, he was a gifted machinist, mechanic and commercial truck driver.  In his younger years, he enjoyed drag racing and billiards.  Later in life, he found comfort and joy in spending time with his family.  Pat had great respect for his late uncles and loved his siblings.  He adored his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Pat loved the Lord and found peace and fulfillment reading the bible.  He had an infectious laugh and incredible sense of humor.  He was honest, loyal and generous.  Pat truly was a great man.  He will be missed immensely by many.  

Survivors include his wife, Helen S. Dalton of Kite; sons, Derek Dalton, Patrick Dalton (Jacqueline) both of Kite, and Chad Dalton of Wrightsville; daughter, Tonya Dalton of Edisto, S.C.; brothers, John E. Dalton of Weaverville, N.C. and Lynn Bryant of Alabama; sister, Tia Fuller and Jennifer Pearson both of Asheville, N.C.; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.    

Memorial Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2019 in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Lamar Kersey officiating.  

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
