Robert L. Jones

Mr. Robert L. Jones, Sr., 74, of Twin City passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Twin View Nursing Home in Twin City following an extended illness.

Mr. Jones was born January 3, 1945 in Glenville to the late Betsy Jones.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary Jones; daughter, Rochelle Jones; brother, Joe Henry Jones.  Mr. Jones attended Tattnall County School system.  On November 20, 1964, he married Pearl Ann Spikes.  To this union 4 children were born.  Upon moving to Swainsboro, he worked for Sam’s Drive-In and was later employed by the City of Swainsboro.  For a number of years, he attended the Williams Chapel Holiness Church.  After his health declined and he could no longer live by himself, he resided at Twin View Nursing Facility for 16 years.

Survivors include his sons, Robert (Susie) Jones, Jr., Alvin (Diane) Jones, both of Swainsboro, Charles Jones of Claxton; daughters, Mary Jones of Douglas, Rachel Brihm of Waynesboro; brother, Otis Jones of Glenville; sisters, Jeanette James of Augusta, Annette Jones of Glenville; 18 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.  

Memorial Service will be Sunday, August 25, 2019, 1:00 p.m. at Williams Chapel Holiness Church with Bishop Clyde Fowler, Sr., Elder Clyde Fowler, Jr. and Minister Mildred Phillip officiating.

Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service.
