Ruth (Young) Lampp

Mrs. Ruth Young Lampp, 92, of Swainsboro passed away Friday afternoon, October 6, 2017 at her residence following an extended illness.

            Mrs. Lampp was born December 31, 1924 in Rockledge, Ga. to the late Jackie Young and Martha Stewart Young. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pershing Jutt Lampp; brothers, Ellie J. Young, Eddie Young, and Elvin Young; sisters, Avis Young, and Grace Holt Brantley; grandson, Rick Johnson. Mrs. Lampp was a nurse at Smith Powell Hospital, and use to volunteer at Fairview Park Hospital. She also did a Radio Broadcast with her son-in-law, Riley Johnson called “Stroll Down Memory Lane” that aired for over twenty years. Mrs. Lampp was a member of First Assembly of God and a Charter Member of Emanuel Assembly of God.

            Survivors include her daughters, Yvonne Price (Lynn Johnson) of Swainsboro, and Patsy L. Johnson of Kite; son, Delton (Charlyne) Lampp of Dublin; grandchildren, Joey Price (Teri), Ashley Hood (Joey), Dr. JP. Price (Kelly), Joan P. Lawson, Julie Rogers (Tommy), Allen Clements (Christy), Lori Sears (Hugh), Carla Powell, Dee Dee Parker, Denise Googe, Michael Johnson (Rhonda), and Junior Johnson; great-grandchildren, Jessica Spires (Dusty), Rob Sears, Justin Clements, Ashtyne Fair, Jordan Lawson, Madison Lawson, Juliana Hood, Taylor Hood, Alecia Wiggins (Brad), Ryan Price (Kim), Marla Hooks (Ashley), Jennifer Kelly (Shay), Patrick Price (Lauren), Matthew Rogers (Lauren), Anna Johnson, Patsy Kay Johnson, Alana Johnson, Mikey Johnson, Cody Carmichael, Kyle Carmichael, Alex Googe, McKenzie Googe, Zachory Googe, Cassidy Parker, Kendall Parker, Sam Price, and Grady Price; great-great-grandchildren, Ayden Stockholm, Clayton Johnson, Richard Johnson, Mason Spires, Mikaylin Spires, Megon Spires, Charlsey Kelly, Tyler Kelly, Ella Jo Hooks, Broxton Hooks, Nora Wiggins, Erin Wiggins, Tess Rogers, and William Rogers; special caregivers, Deloris Kelly, and Gladys Hill; several nieces, nephews, and friends.

            Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 9, 2017 with Reverend Allen Meeks officiating.

           Interment will follow in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.

           The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Chapman Funeral Home.

            Pallbearers are Kenny Young, Sammy Young, Homer Garnto, Keith Johnson, Shay Kelly, and Randy Buxton.
