Mrs. Sally (King) Walton, 70, of Swainsboro passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at her residence following an extended illness.
Sally King Walton was born March 3, 1949 in Knoxville, TN to the late Audley King and Dora Sauls King. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Cliff Harris Walton, Jr, to whom she was married to for twenty happy years. Mrs. Sally Walton had a 6-year degree in education from Georgia State University and Georgia Southern University. Sally knew from a young age that she wanted to teach. She was an elementary teacher and high school special needs teacher for many decades in several Georgia counties; including Clayton, Emanuel and Burke. In retirement, Sally became a dedicated volunteer teacher of English as a second language. Mrs. Walton was a member of Norristown Missionary Baptist Church and taught Sunday school to a variety of ages. She also enjoyed reading, traveling, sewing and spending time with her many friends. She adored her grandchildren and they adored her. They remember her as a loving Grandmother, who would give you the shirt off her back and never met a stranger.
Survivors include her son, Cliff Harris Walton, III of Forsyth; daughters, Ann (Michael) Bowe of Stockbridge, Jan (Thomas) Bradley-Reinert of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Clay (Allie) Walton, Nathan Bowe, Rebekah Bradley, Genoa Bowe, Rachael Bradley, Leah Bowe, Janna Bowe; great-grandchildren, Kaden Thorpe, Aldyn Walton; and many friends.
Memorial Service will be Saturday December 28, 2019 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home
