Mrs. Shirley Jean Gay, 65, of Twin City passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Gay was born October 29, 1952 in Dublin, Ga. to the late Homer Odell Thomas and Louise Horne Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hubert Gay; sister, Ann Gardner; brothers, Judell Thomas, and Bennie Thomas. Mrs. Gay married her late husband in 1974 and moved to Stillmore in 1975, eventually moving to Twin City. She loved coloring, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Gay was a member of Twin City Church of God.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Brown (Jesse) of Twin City; son, Justin Gay of Twin City; brothers, Homer Thomas of East Dublin, and Wayne Thomas (Vicki) of Rentz; granddaughter, Jessica Bazemore (Andrew) of Twin City; great-grandsons, Andrew Jesse Bazemore, Dewayne James Bazemore, and Aerin Bazemore; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral Services will be in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2018 with Reverends James Davis and George Archer officiating.
Interment will follow in Coleman Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Earon Davis, Dale Brown, Justin Hubert Gay, Benjamin “Pee Wee” Flores, John Tanner, and Cory Edwards.
Honorary Pallbearers are T.J. Davis.
