Mr. Wallace H. Alford, 66, of Twin City passed away Friday evening, October 19, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Alford was born August 27, 1952 in Savannah, Ga. to the late Wallace Horace Bragg and Mardrey Allmond Reese. He was preceded in death by his parents; adopted father, Willie Emmitt Alford; brother, Ronald C. Alford; sister, Wanda Lanette Bragg. Mr. Alford was born in Savannah Georgia. He grew up in Millen Ga before marrying and moving to Savannah again with his job at UPS. Mr. Alford spent many years working with UPS and eventually was able to transfer to Swainsboro Ga. After retiring from UPS He started a successful career with United Health Insurance Company. Mr. Alford ended up buying property and building a home in Twin City Ga where he spent most of his time working on his farm and walking in the woods enjoying time with nature.
Wallace enjoyed watching football and NASCAR and was always up for talking about farming or hunting. He was dearly loved by his family and will be missed by all who were blessed enough to have known him.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah G. Alford of Twin City; sons, Joshua (Amanda) Alford of Soperton, Raymond Alford of Twin City, and Wallace J. (Amy) Williams of Pooler; daughter, Whitney (Andy) Holden of Canoochee; sister, Pamela Alford Lane of Millen; 8 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 1p.m. Monday, October 22, 2018 with Rev. Carl Hay officiating.
Interment will be in the Millen City Cemetery
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until time of service Monday October 22, 2018 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Andy Holden, Billy Mac Trull, Rex Rigdon, Tom Lane and Trent Lane
