Mr. Bill Tant, 65, of Swainsboro passed away Friday, May 4, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Tant was born July 16, 1952 in Milledgeville, Ga. to the late Andrew Tant and Ruby Hooks Tant. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Frances Riner Tant; brothers, Marvin Tant, Sylvester Tant, Leroy Tant, and Andrew Tant, Jr. Mr. Tant lived most of his life in Kite until moving to Swainsboro about 15 years ago. He loved fishing, listening to music, gardening and nature. Mr. Tant was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his daughters, Marietta (Josh) Cook of Lyons, Michelle (Rayburn) Oliver of Lyons, and Rebecca (Art) Wolfe of Vidalia; sons, Andy (Brandi) Tant of Kite, Billy (Sonya) Tant of Kite, Jeff Tant of Lyons, and Henry Hall of Swainsboro; sisters, Mary Sally (Ellie) Stapleton of Wrightsville, and Merle (James) Mullis of Dublin; 15 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral Services will be in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home 2:00 p.m. Sunday May 6, 2018 with Reverend Charles Hodges officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sardis Cemetery near Kite.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Alex Otero, Ryan Creamer, Wes Creamer, Edgar Heath, Wailey Kirby, and Mark Deardorf.
