Alice Rich Marsh

Mrs. Alice Rich Marsh, 78, of Swainsboro passed away Friday, June 24, 2022, at her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Marsh was born April 30, 1944, in Swainsboro to George Rich and Artie McBride Rich. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Freddy Gerald Marsh; brothers, Bud Rich, Ernest Rich, and Shorty Rich. Mrs. Marsh loved spending time at Jekyll Island each year. She did a lot of reading and always made sure her nails were done. Mrs. Marsh was the owner and operator of Senior Citizens Care Center since 1990 and was a natural caregiver. She was a member at Summertown Baptist Church and a lifelong member at Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was very active in the church and involved with other people. Mrs. Marsh was also a proud member and chaplain of the Ladies Aux. of Swainsboro Shrine Club.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Brinson (Jeff) of Swainsboro; sons, Chuck Marsh of Swainsboro, Buddy Marsh of Canoochee; grandchildren, Tasha Brinson (Victor Sanchez), Ben Brinson (Heather), Kelsey Greene (Jeffrey); greatgrandchildren, Brinley Brinson, Grayson Brinson; also surviving, better known to them as “Aunt Granny”, Rick Marsh, Blake Marsh, James “Dooner” Marsh; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, June 26, in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Keith Claxton officiating.

Interment will follow in Swainsboro City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be James “Dooner” Marsh, Jerry Rich, Darin Griner, Blake Jones, Curtis Rich, and Steve Rich.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the Swainsboro Shrine Club.
