Mr. Andrew McCoy, Jr., 76, of Twin City passed away Monday night, August 29, 2016 at Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. McCoy was born May 9, 1940 in Soperton to the late Andrew Jackson McCoy and Beulah Wheeler. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Carolyn Diamond McCoy; sons, Tray Voyles, and Lasalie Voyles; 1 sister, and 6 brothers. Mr. McCoy never met a stranger he would carry on a conversation with anyone he came into contact with. He loved going to the Bone Yard on Saturday mornings, and seating around the campfire. Mr. McCoy was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his sons, Allan McCoy (Danielle DeCarlo), Mitchell McCoy both of Twin City, Charles Voyles of Twin City, William Voyles (Celina Sapp) of N.C.; daughter, Lavana McCoy of Swainsboro; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Friday morning, September 2, 2016 with Reverend Lamar Kersey officiating.
Interment will be in the Wheeler Cemetery, Kite.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening, September 1, 2016 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Allan McCoy, Mitchell McCoy, Charles Voyles, Anthony DeCarto, Jayjay Pace, and Dom Landon.
