Ann Newsome Vazquez

Ann Vazquez of Swainsboro Georgia passed away early in the morning of August 9th, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She was preceded in death by husband Abelardo Vazquez, brothers R.W. Newsome, Lynwood Newsome and her mother Eloise Edenfield.

She is survived by her son Anthony Vazquez (Elaine), daughter Lisa Gay (Keith), Grandchildren: Amanda Tobin, Paula Stewart (Lance), Nikki Harvey (John), Jessica Gay, Brandon Gay, Sabrina Woolard (Bruce). Great-Grandchildren: Makayla, Elizabeth, Morgan, Brayden, Mackenzie, Eva, Bristol, Mayleigh, Jessie, Lane, Raina, Rowen, Wyatt, and Weston. Great-Great-Grandchildren: Lainey Jo, Lyndi, Novaleigh.

Ann was a loving wife, mother and Mema as she was known to all her grandchildren and beyond. She was a woman of many talents from sewing, baking, cooking, and gardening. She loved to sit on the front porch in her rocking chair with her family. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family. She loved reading and could almost always be caught with a book. She will be missed by many friends and family. We love you so much Mema.

Funeral services will be held Friday August 14, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral service.

Burial will follow at Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum near Swainsboro.
