Mrs. Annette J. Blackwell, 76, of Swainsboro passed away at Memorial Health in Savannah following a brief illness.
Mrs. Blackwell was born November 29, 1946, in Millen to the late John Tom Johnson and Pansy Oglesby Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Henry Blackwell; brother, Ben Edward Johnson; sister, Audrey Williams Simmons. Annette Johnson Blackwell was a Mama and “Ma” to all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was proud of her LPN degree and had a career in long term healthcare, home health, and management. Annette was an angel to many, always taking pride in taking care of every patient she encountered with kindness and compassion. She was proud of all three of her children and how successful each one became. Annette enjoyed the love that each daughter and son gave to her each and every day. They all had their own special bond with her that was unique to each of their personalities. She knew to call Sharmon and Shannon for her health questions, shopping, getting her hair done, or going on beach or trip adventures. She knew to call Jamie "her baby boy" to fix everything, cut her grass, spoil her, and go eat lunch with her most days.
Her grandchildren and great grandchild were so very special to her. She was excited for a new baby to be joining the family soon. Cody knew when he was growing up that he could call on her for anything if everybody else said no. She was so proud of his position in the U.S. Navy. Her Abby Rose was a bright light in her life that always made sure to stop by and see her and give all the hugs and kisses. She was so proud of her attending UGA. She and Colt enjoyed their days and nights together, usually found at Wal-Mart, Peking, on the 4-wheeler and golf-cart, and ending with them eating snacks and playing on the I-Pad in bed. Little Luke loved his "Ba" and sitting in her lap to watch anything on her phone. He called her almost every day to have a conversation in baby language. She always talked about how sweet and kind Johnny James was and enjoyed spending time with him. They shared a love of Baby Yoda with the stuffed animal he bought her. There wasn't a grandchild that didn't have a full belly when they were around her. She spoiled and loved them without hesitation. She enjoyed gardening and spent a lot of time spoiling her dogs and cats. She always enjoyed the river, driving her jeep and 4-wheelers, riding any boat, going to Florida, and watching her grandchildren play sports. She lived a good life, full of fun and adventure, always making sure she kept everyone on their toes. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her Mrs. Blackwell attended Oaky Grove Baptist Church.
