Ms. Annie Louise Collins, 83, of Wrightsville, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at her residence, following an extended illness

Ms. Collins was born September 29, 1939, in Savannah to Arlie Bird and Annie Dell Hollaway Bird.  Ms. Annie enjoyed traveling, camping and shopping. She enjoyed when her family got together and played cards; her favorite card game being Texas Hold’em. She loved anything from the river to state parks. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; life partner, Michael Rogers; brother, Randall Bird.

Survivors include her sons, Charles Akridge (Ellen) of Swainsboro, Dennis Akridge of Swainsboro, David Akridge (Bessy) of Stillmore; daughters, Gail Turner (Rollie) of Summertown, Doris Colston (Joe) of Bartow, Susan Orce (David) of Wrightsville; brother, Charles Bird (Wanda) of Stillmore; sisters, Faye McCranie of Cobbtown, Betty Jane Rogers of Aline; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Chapman Funeral Home.
