Mr. Arthur C. Williams, 73, of Swainsboro died Saturday, January 21, 2012, in the St. Joseph’s Candler Hospital in Savannah following an extended illness.
Mr. Williams was born and a life long residence of Emanual County. He was preceded in death by his parents Rufus Williams and Esther Claxton Williams, sister, Vera Ree Williams, special grandson, Alex Costley.
Mr. Williams enjoyed fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, riding around looking at the county sites and watching westerns. He was a member of the Kite Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Radford Williams of Kite; son, Roy Donavon Morris of Kite; daughter, Janet M. (Milton) Costley of Kite; brother, Paul (Ruth) Williams of Kite; sister, Lizzie Mae (Roy) Hawkins of Kite; grandchildren, Adam Costley, Donavon L. Morris and Christian Morris; niece, Holly Bennett; nephews Jason and Derrick Hawkins.
Funeral services will be held at the Kite Church of God at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning January 24, 2012 with Reverend Allen Meeks and Johnny Claxton officiating. Mr. Williams will Lie in State one hour prior to service. Burial will be in the Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday January 23, 2012 at Chapman Funeral Home and at the residence of Lizzie Mae and Roy Hawkins, 257 Price Williams Rd. Kite Ga.
Pallbearers will be John Page, Richard Copeland, Charlie Hopkins, Verlon McNeely, Donnie Williford and Donald Peebles.
Honorary Pallbearers are Carlton Copeland, Harry Martin, Jay Lawson and men of the Kite Church of God.
