Mr. Arthur G. Screws Jr., 59, of Kite died early Tuesday morning, August 2, 2011 in the Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Screws was a native of Emanuel County and was preceded in death by his father Arthur Screws Sr. Before retiring he was a loan officer for Gay Loan and Finance Co. and served 15 years with Jenkins county law enforcement.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Brenda S. Screws; sons, Brandon and Amy Screws of Kite, Dustin Screws of Summertown, and Dakota Suggs of Kite; daughter, Dawn and Richard Bedgood of Swainsboro; mother, Evelyn Screws of Swainsboro; brother, Steve and Donna Screws of Swainsboro; sisters, Mary and Jerry Woods of Swainsboro, Janice and Ray Black of Wadley, and Betty and Tommy Whitner of Augusta; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 11 o’clock Thursday morning, August 4, with the Reverends Allen Meeks and Morris Brantley officiating. Burial will be in the Kite City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be David Gay, David Arthur, Ray Garvin and Larry Thompson.
