Barbara (Tanner) Edwards

Ms. Barbara Tanner Edwards, 65, of Wrightsville passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022, at her residence following an extended illness.

Ms. Edwards was born April 3, 1957, in Bartow to Bennie Tanner and Mary Garner Tanner. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lewis Hanson Edwards, Sr.; sisters, Mary Ann Fanning, Judy White, Lynn Harrell; brothers, J. W. Tanner, Billy Tanner, Roy Tanner, Mickey Tanner, Donald Tanner, Fred Tanner, Cecil Tanner. Ms. Edwards was a great mother and grandmother. She loved to make everyone laugh and believed laughter was the best medicine. Ms. Edwards was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her son, Lewis Hanson Edwards, Jr. of Kite; daughter, Krystal Dawn Edwards of Wrightsville; sisters, Betty Jackson of Tennille, Dorothy Claxton of Alaska; grandchildren, Brittany Marie Edwards, Layla Hartlyn Edwards; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2022, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Jamey Toler officiating.

Interment will follow in the Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2022, at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Josh Tanner, Nick Tanner, Tony Tanner, Don Tanner, Jamie Tanner, and Ryder Lamb.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jarrett Tanner and Tyler Tanner.
