Mrs. Barbara Ann Gilbert, 52, of Swainsboro died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 in the East Georgia Regional Medical Center, Statesboro following an extended illness.
Mrs. Gilbert was a native of Emanuel County and was preceded in death by her father, Henry Clinton Riner and a sister, Mary Tant. She was a Loving Mother, Grandmother and attended Corner Stone Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Renee Johnson, Swainsboro; sons, John David Johnson and Stephen Howard Gilbert, Jr., both of Swainsboro; mother, Claudie Mae Averette Riner, Swainsboro; brothers, James Riner, Kite, Robert Riner and Hershel Riner, both of Swainsboro; sisters, Inez Conley, Fayetteville, GA, Laura Mason and Hazel Rickerson, both of Swainsboro; 4 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, February 19, with the Reverends Bunny Hudson, Arthur Lee Conley, and Charles Hodges officiating. Burial will be in Sardis Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 18 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Tant, Joshua Cook, Robert Williams, B. J. Conley, Trey Cox, and Mitchell Conley.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Mrs. Gilbert.
