Mrs. Barbara A. Sherrod, 58, of Twin City died Sunday afternoon, September 21, 2014 at the Georgia Regents Medical Center in Augusta following an extended illness.
Mrs. Sherrod was born July 7, 1956 in Metter to the late John Wesley Samples and Annie Lee Samples. She was a life long resident of Twin City. Mrs. Sherrod was a homemaker. She loved baby sitting for her family, watching cooking shows and listening to gospel music.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Green Sherrod of Twin City; brother, Buddy Samples of Twin City; sisters, Jo Ann (George) Archer and Faye Jackson both of Twin City; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Twin City Church of God at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, September 24, 2014 with Reverends Ronald Youngblood and John Woodcock officiating. Mrs. Sherrod will Lie in State one hour prior to service.
Interment will be in the Old Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church cemetery near Twin City.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, September 23, 2014 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are James Ward, Wesley Kirkland, Lee Sherrod, Henry Hobbs, Jessie Brown and Dale Brown
Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Womack, Bobby Frank Sherrod, Dr. Mason Smith, Billy Sherrod, Tal Willis and Henry Hobbs, IV.
