Mrs. Betty Johnson Bussiere, 87, of Millen passed away Friday, December 9, 2022, at Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mrs. Bussiere was born June 20, 1935, in Emanuel County to Waylan Johnson and Ruby Larimore Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marcel Bussiere; step-grandson, Steve Riner; brother, Kenneth Johnson; sister, Barbara J. Gordy. Mrs. Bussiere loved her grandchildren, shopping – especially at Hamricks, cooking, and going places with her sister and sister-in-law. She was a member of Garfield Baptist Church and attended Deep Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Mike Cross (Tammy) of Swainsboro; daughter, Kay Oglesby (David) of Millen; stepsons, Michael Bussiere (Kathy) of Evansville, IN, William Bussiere (Claire) of Colchester, MA, Daniel Bussiere (Kim) of Clarksville, TN; stepdaughter, Patricia B. Riner (Raymond) of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Lexie Cross, Taylor Cross, Jason Oglesby (Valerie), Jami Fagler (Ty); great-grandchildren, Lani Fagler, Tyler Fagler, Jasi Lyn Oglesby, Jax Oglesby; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2022, in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Dowless officiating.
Interment will follow in Hebron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2022, at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ty Fagler, Jason Oglesby, Toby Greenway, T. J. Greenway, C. J. Green, and Steve Johnson.
