Betty J Dunn

Mrs. Betty J. Dunn, 90, of Swainsboro, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Emanuel County Nursing Home, following an extended illness.

Mrs. Dunn was born April 24, 1932, in Summit, Ga to Walter T. Lee and Ouida Rowland Lee. She was a nurse at Emanuel County Nursing Home for many years.  She enjoyed fishing and doing word puzzles.  She loved the Lord, her children, and her church family.  She had the joy of the Lord in her heart.  Mrs. Betty was a committed Christian who always wanted to do her part.  She was eager to serve Jesus and others, and willing to give encouraging words to all that was ready to listen. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Swainsboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Hilda Lee, Iona Lee, Hazel Mincey.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Dunn of Swainsboro; sons, David Boatright of Pensacola, FL., Eddie Boatright (Laura) of Vintondale, PA, Richard Boatright (Deborah) of Jacksonville, FL.; her “Baby Boy”, Bryce Chapman of Swainsboro; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Southside Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Stark officiating.

Interment will follow at Old Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Southside Baptist Church.

Pallbearers are Jimmy Peebles, Alton Henry, Corbin Wiggins, Mace Henry, Brandon Chapman, and Bryce Chapman.
