Mrs. Betty Wynn Parrish, 86, of Statesboro passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro following an extended illness.
Mrs. Parrish was born July 13, 1935, in Guyton to George Dewey Wynn, Sr. and Dicy Anderson Wynn. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Arthur Parrish; grandson, Christopher Parrish; sisters, Audrey Wynn O’Brian, Marjorie Wynn Edwards; brothers, Thomas Joseph Wynn, Riley Beman Wynn, and George Dewey Wynn, Jr. Mrs. Parrish was married for 64 years, following her husband around the world for 26 ½ years during his career in the military. She owned Parrish Appliance Center in Statesboro for over 25 years. The kitchen was her favorite place to be, as she loved cooking. Mrs. Parrish was an avid Georgia Southern University football fan. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Statesboro.
She is survived by her daughter, Tanya Lane (Rusty) of Canoochee; son, Dennis Parrish of North Augusta, SC; grandchildren, Rebecca Morris, Eli Lane, Dicey Lane; greatgrandchildren, Jason Morris, Harper Morris; Godsons, Will Clarke of Statesboro, Jay Clarke of Register; sister-in-law, Faye Chester of Statesboro; brothers-in-law, Robert Parrish of Savannah, James Parrish of Statesboro; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Private Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 7, 2022.
Interment will follow in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sunshine House Children’s Center, 328 West Main Street, Swainsboro, Georgia 30401.
