Mrs. Betty Reese, 85, of Swainsboro passed away Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Pruitt Health of Swainsboro, GA following a short experience of recent health problems. Mrs. Reese was born October 13, 1939, in Swainsboro, GA to the late Albert Johns and Louetta Beasley Johns. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leroy Reese; brothers, Billy Johns, Danny Johns and Henry Johns.
Mrs. Betty was a homemaker with hobbies of knitting, crocheting, sewing, embroidery, and baking her specialty cakes for special occasions. She enjoyed her creations by sharing with others in the community her many talents. Donating to the neonatal care her crocheted outfits or octopus for comforting the little ones. She enjoyed family time with her surviving children; Linda Bennett of Swainsboro, GA; Robert “Bobby” Reese (Ethel) of Hazlehurst, GA; Diane Hodges (Ricky) of Vidalia, GA; Randy Reese (Catherine) of Floral City, FL. 11 Grandchildren Renee “Reyna” Galindo of Baxley, GA; April Alba(Juan) of Douglas, GA; Adam Bennett of Swainsboro, GA; Jennifer “Dee” Peebles of Deforest, WI ; Albert Bennett of Swainsboro; Luke Peebles of Valdosta, GA; Jonathan Reese of Baxley, GA: Henry “Hank” Peebles (Kaylan) of Madsion, WI; Stephen Reese of Floral City, FL; Angel Lewis (Chance) of Swainsboro, GA and Nathan Reese of Floral City, FL. 13 Great-grandchildren- Cristian Torres, Arianna Lara both of Hazlehurst, GA; Ryan Galindo, Rosi Galindo, Reylyn Galindo of Baxley, GA; Alex Alba of Douglas, GA; Edward Bennett of Swainsboro; Zach, Lucas, John Reese of Baxley, GA; Lillian Harlan and Tillian Peebles of Madsion, WI and Hudson Lewis of Swainsboro. Great Great Grandson Jacob Lara of Hazlehurst. She was a special gift of a grandmother to 5 additional grandchildren Brett (Rachel) Hodges of Peachtree City, GA; Kristina (Alen)Harris of Savannah; Liza Smalls of Hazlehurst, GA; Rachel White of Pearson; Betty Gable of Hazlehurst, GA; Six Great grandchildren Andrew Hodges of Vidalia, GA; Kelllun Hodges of Waycross, GA; Kyrstyn White of Pearson, GA; Jesse White of Pearson, GA; Alfonso Alba Jr. of Douglas, GA and Ayvan Smalls of Hazlehurst and Great Great grandchild Jacob White. Her life was filled with many loved ones Sister-in laws Deborah (Danny) Johns and Betty (William “Billy”) Johns. Multiple nieces and nephews, loyal lifetime friends and neighbors; Special friends and neighbors Russell and Judy Moore, as well as her precious furry companion “Jingles” she leaves with us to cherish and remember her life as we celebrate the going home to be joined with her beloved Leroy Reese.
Arrangements are as follows for Mrs. Betty Reese:
Funeral Services will be Friday, December 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Rusty Moore officiating, assisted by Reverend Jim Harrell. Pallbearers will be grandsons- Adam Bennett, Jonathan Reese, Luke Peebles, Albert Bennett, Stephen and Nathan Reese
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in Moxley Cemetery.
