Betty Riner Woods

Mrs. Betty Riner Woods, 86, of Adrian, GA. passed away Friday, March 29, 2019 at Scott Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness.

Mrs. Woods was born in Emanuel County February 14, 1933 to the late Hyman Johnson and Eliza Wiggins Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.L. Woods; brothers, Joseph Johnson, Dan Johnson, Fern Johnson, and Otis Johnson; sisters, Ruth Kent, Marie Craft, and Ruby Patrick. Mrs. Woods was a lifelong Emanuel County resident, was a jokester and a lot of fun to be around. She enjoyed traveling, the mountains, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Woods was a member of Twin City First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, William Riner (Glenda) of Swainsboro; daughters, Joyce Johnson (Roger) of Garfield, and Beth Braswell of Swainsboro; brother, James Johnson of Garfield; sister, Debbie Price of Swainsboro, and Bernice Williams of Glenville; grandchildren, Brad Riner (Christie), Brooke Stubbs (Jared), Adam Johnson, and Anna Johnson (Wade); 8 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral Services will be in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home 3 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2019 with Rev. Louis Pearce officiating.

Interment will be at Old Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2019 at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Adam Johnson, Brad Riner, Jerry Johnson, Mike Johnson, Ronnie Womack, and Ricky Williams.
