Mr. Billy Grant, 90, of Kite passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2026, at his residence. He was born on May 9, 1936, to the late Perry Grant and Annie Crabb Grant. Billy was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Cozette Roberson Grant and Judy Griffin Grant; sons, Billy Joe Grant and Timothy Gene Grant; brothers, John Henry Grant, Roy Grant, Raymond Grant; sisters, Ruby Lee Coleman, Hattie Mae Pool, Claudie Bell Copeland, Quida Wilkerson and Margie Howard.
Billy Grant was a hardworking man who spent his life working with his hands and providing for those he loved. In his younger years, he worked in the textile industry before becoming a farmer, pulpwood worker, and pine straw worker. Billy was not one to sit still, and he continued working into his early 70s until his health began to decline.
Billy was full of life, laughter, and stories. He enjoyed watching old television shows and especially loved a good old western. One of the things he enjoyed most was having visitors. He loved talking with people and would carry on a conversation for as long as he could.
For the past 15 years, Billy was cared for by Always Caring, and he had been receiving hospice care since December of last year. Throughout his years, Billy touched the lives of many people with his hard work, humor, and genuine love of conversation.
Billy will be remembered for his laughter, his stories, his strong work ethic, and the joy he found in the simple things in life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
