Mr. Billy Wayne Poole, 48, of Swainsboro died Tuesday night, January 14, 2014 at the Emanuel Medical Center following a brief illness.
Mr. Poole was born and lived in Soperton until graduating high school 1985. After graduation, he moved to Swainsboro to be with family members. Mr. Poole liked to work in the yard, taking care of his nieces and nephews, football and an avid race fan. He was also a member of Holton’s Chapel Advent Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his father Lester Poole.
Survivors include his mother, Sara Lawson Poole of Soperton; brothers, Wyman (Bobbie) Poole of Soperton, Bobby Joe Poole of Vidalia and Ronald Poole of Soperton; sisters, Elaine Passmore of Swainsboro and Patricia (Jimmy) Lumpkin of Adrian; special friends; Chris and Lynn Grindler and Charles and Debra Hadden all of Swainsboro; nieces, April (Alexander) Smith of Statesboro, Terri Passmore (Danny Rucker) of Swainsboro, Stephanie Sapp of Swainsboro; nephew, B. J. Poole of Lyons; several great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at the Eastbrook Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 with Elder Tommy Rountree officiating and Mrs. Lynn Grindler speaking.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening, January 16, 2014 at Chapman Funeral Home.
