Mr. Bobby Ray Jones, Sr., 72, of Stillmore died Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at his residence after an extended illness.
Mr. Jones was a native of Emanuel County and was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Ola Mae (Sutton) Jones; brothers, Ben Jones, Robert Lee “Fuzz” Jones, Gordon “Boot” Jones, and Clarence “Punk” Jones; sister, Betty Akridge; grandson, Willie Jones. He served in the United States Army and was a member of Stillmore Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Jones; sons, Bobby “Skipper” Jones, Stilson, Bobby Ray Jones, Jr., Stillmore, Jimbo (Renee) Akridge, Stillmore, and Roy Lee Jones, Stillmore; daughters, Vicki Jones, Oak Park, Jennifer (Paul) Burke, Garfield, and Shirley (Kevin) Scarboro, Stillmore; brothers, Gene Jones, McCormick, S. C., and Bill Jones, Swainsboro; sister, Willene Newman, Swainsboro, Wanda Bird, Stillmore, Nita Partridge, Louisville; 16 grandchildren.
Services will be held in the Chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 11 o’clock Thursday morning, October 28. Burial will be in the Warren Cemetery, Stillmore.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 27 at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Youmans, Randy Youmans, James Youmans, Lester Kingery, Tommy Green, David Akridge, Bobby Beasley, and Keith Slater.
