Mr. Bobby Lee Newman, 75, of Swainsboro died Monday afternoon, December 17, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital in Augusta following an extended illness.
Mr. Newman was born in Stillmore. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie Sam Newman and Mattie Irene Sumner Newman; daughter, Tina Irene Newman; brothers, Clarence Newman and W. S. Newman; sisters, Sybil Newman and Willie Mae Newman.
Mr. Newman was known for his woodworking skills and was a member of Canoochee Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Willene Jones Newman of Swainsboro, sons, Tony Newman and Andy Newman both of Swainsboro; daughter, Carol Guinn of Swainsboro; brothers Leon Newman (Dorothy) of Swainsboro, and Raymond (Linda) Newman of Norristown; sisters, Jeanette (Johnson) Turner of Canoochee, Ruby (Roger) Johnson of Garfield and Louise Jones of Metter; grandchildren, Matthew Guinn and Hannah Guinn both of Swainsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 1 o’clock Wednesday, afternoon December 19, 2012 with Elder Tommy Rountree officiating. Burial will be in the Sim Warren Cemetery near Stillmore.
The family will receive friends from 11am until time of service at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Matt Jones, Ryan Jones, Edmond Marsh, and Kenny Wilburn.
