Brenda Faye Mcgahan

Mrs. Brenda Faye McGahan, 61, of Swainsboro passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. McGahan was born July 15, 1958 in Swainsboro to the late James Charles Henry and Ruby Edenfield Henry.  She is preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Hannah Henry. Mrs. McGahan graduated from Swainsboro High School in 1976. She was passionate about her family. Mrs. McGahan had a love for cooking and enjoyed hosting family gatherings and events where she would try out all of her newest recipes. She was a loyal employee of Maryland Fried Chicken and retired after dedicating 45 years. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, scrapbooking and solving puzzles.

Mrs. McGahan was a member of Nunez Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Patrick “Pat” McGahan of Swainsboro; sons, Jonathan Henry of Swainsboro, Michael McGahan of Kansas City, MO; daughter, Megan (Jarrett) Kersey of Swainsboro; brothers, Jimmy Henry of Wadley, Joe Henry of Soperton, Davey (Lynn) Henry and Larry Henry, both of Swainsboro; sister, Janet Meeks of Swainsboro; grandchildren, J.P. Henry Julianna Henry, Ethan Henry, Dustin Henry, Jace Henry, Nolan Henry, Kannan Henry, Nathan Kersey, Lauren Kersey; great-grandchildren, Caylee Oglesby, J.C. Henry; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, December 14, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at Nunez Baptist Church with Reverends Tommy Kirby and Jim Harrell officiating.

Interment will follow in New Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 13, 2019 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are J.P. Henry, Matt Glisson, Steve Kirby, Tim Stevens, Ethan Henry, and Randall Kersey.
